HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022

Wishing all Tatters a lovely creative New Year ๐Ÿ˜€❤️

Both the Wings tatted in one pass separately and the body part with split rings.

Wonder if the whole butterfly pattern can be tatted in one pass with single shuttle?

Share if you can๐Ÿ˜

Shaping Up with Rings.....1

The Only Rings…..

Sharing my experiments on shapes with tatting - Polygons using Single Shuttle. Each polygon has been tatted using ‘only rings’, Bare Thread to move forward and Clovers at each vertex in a circular way. Number of rings at the center decides the shape of a polygon. SR (Split Ring) with the thread left at the beginning of the round has been used to climb out to the next round. SSSR(Single Shuttle Split Ring) is another option. Any number of rounds can be added to this square by repeating the pattern to make a doily.

Polygon 1- Square having four sides and four vertices.

  Four rings at the center

Marie MacCurry has Test Tatted the written pattern of ‘The Only Rings Square’

Thank You so much Marie for tatting this square and

suggesting corrections in the PDF pattern.

Jagruti and Padma tatted the square by hiding bare thread.

Thank You everyone!!!!!

Polygon 2- Triangle- three sides and three vertices

   Three rings at the center

The basic pattern idea for my ‘The Only Rings Square’ has come from

Madhur’s amazingly beautiful  Unending Doily

Next post on some more polygons with Single Shuttle…

viz. Pentagon, Hexagon, Heptagon……

Sharing a Bookmark pattern---- RADIANCE BOOKMARK

Tatted with Single Shuttle.

Clovers are joined with small rings,

leaving Bare Thread of 30 mm between each.

Find PDF pattern here: Radiance Bookmark

Marie McCurry has been so kind and helpful to test tat the pattern.

She tatted this Bookmark in beautiful variegated Lizbeth thread.

The Bare Thread length of 30 mm as in the written pattern did not fit

for Lizbeth thread due to the difference in the thread thickness.

A pictorial below has been added to the PDF pattern for determining

proper Bare Thread length for different types of threads.

So when you start the Radiance Bookmark pattern, kindly check the

Bare Thread length for your choice of thread.

Marie re-tatted the Radiance Bookmark using BT length calculation on

my request.

And the result came out exactly as per the original pattern.

Loads of thanks to Marie๐Ÿ˜˜

Dot Picot Version

The Bare Thread in the Radiance Bookmark pattern replaced by

Dot Picot Strings.

Other variations……

 In variegated Thread Size 20

In anchor Size 20 with tail variation

Hope you all enjoy tatting this pattern.
